Michel was born and raised in Lyon, one of the most beautiful and historical cities in France. He attended Institut Pitiot Crespa in Lyon where he received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and Business/Management. After college, Michel moved to New York to pursue his career in fashion. From 1993 to 2006 Michel worked for Street Beat Sportswear as the CEO.

In 2006 BCBG acquired Street Beat Sportswear and made Michel President of BCBG–Miley Cyrus & Max Azria, a division that generated 700 million dollars in sales for BCBG. In 2011 Michel left BCBG to start his own retail company, ‘S.YL.K.’ S.Y.L.K. was a trendy store located in California and Nevada, and mainly catered to women in their early 20s and 30s. SYLK carried several different styles of name brand denim, tops, and dresses. Michel closed SYLK stores in 2014, but has transformed the name into his own line of women’s apparel, accessories, and shoes. He has worked with a number of different influences to create a chic and elegant line that will be launching in the near future.

In 2014, Michel also opened ‘Nyam Licensing Agency’ – a multi-million-dollar company that is licensed out by brands, to design, produce, and sell their own product under their licensor’s name. Nyam’s corporate office is based in West Hollywood, CA, and recently opened a new showroom located in the garment district in New York City, NY. Nyam originally held a license with bebe and BCBG ‘Max Azria,’ but after BCBG filed for bankruptcy in 2016, Nyam could no longer continue to produce or sell under the BCBG name.After the loss of BCBG in 2016, Michel continued to search for new brands to partner with.

In 2017, Nyam signed licenses with Catherine Malandrino, and Joan Vass. Now holding three licenses, Nyam has completely exceeded all expectations and is selling to some of the biggest department stores in the world.
